🦷 How To 3X Revenue 
By Changing Positioning 🦷

Okay before you roll your eyes and say “I’m not a dentist,” just hang tight.

Because this one small change in his marketing, that cost literally $0, tripled his revenue in one year. Let’s get into it…

So a friend of mine is a marketing consultant. He got a new client last year: a dentist in a big city in Texas. First question he asked?

“Who’s your target customer?”

Dentist responds without missing a beat: “Anyone with teeth.”

My friend: “You don’t have enough money to advertise to everyone with teeth.”

Dentist: “Okay fair, so… how do we find my ideal customer?”

What happened next was pure Growth Hacking magic.

My friend dug into his CRM, ran a little spreadsheet magic, and spotted a pattern most people wouldn’t have caught:

👉 The dentist’s highest-paying, highest-converting, happiest customers?

Divorced women over 45.

Women who recently re-entered the dating pool and wanted to feel confident again. But not the kind of “plastic surgery, go under the knife” confidence. Just a fresh smile. Some whitening. Maybe a tooth replacement or a veneer to help bring their smile back to life.

So what did my friend do?

He changed nothing about the dentist’s services…

…but EVERYTHING about how he presented them in their ads.

They stopped saying “We’re a family-friendly dental clinic for everyone.”

Instead?

They started saying: “Helping divorced women over 45 feel confident on their next first date.”

They ran Facebook ads with that headline. They sent direct mail with that promise. They rebranded the practice as The #1 Divorced Woman’s Dentist in Texas.

Within a couple of days, the phone started ringing nonstop.

Within a year? They 3X’d their revenue!

Why?

Simple: When you talk to everyone, no one listens.

But when you talk directly to one person, and make them feel like your business was built just for them, people line up to buy.

This dentist didn’t change his tools. He changed his target.

🎯 He stopped aiming for “everyone with teeth.”

And started aiming for the right person with the right pain at the right moment.

Here Are My 3 Signature Examples

🧠 Software Company: If you sell a project management tool, don’t market it as “better project management.” That’s what everyone says. Instead, niche in and say:

“Built for solo consultants who are drowning in client work and need to look more buttoned-up without hiring a team.”

You’ve instantly made your product feel built for one person, even if others will also buy.

🛒 E-Commerce Brand: Selling skincare? Don’t just say “anti-aging cream.” That’s table stakes.

Say: “For women who just hit 40 and want their coworkers to ask if they’re doing something different.”

Suddenly, it’s not a cream. It’s a feeling.

📈 Marketing Agency: If you offer SEO, don’t say “We rank websites on Google.” Yawn!

Say: “We help bootstrapped SaaS founders outrank venture-backed competitors.”

Now your offer punches above its weight.

You don’t need new products. You need new positioning.

So here’s your challenge this week:

👉 Go look at your current best customers. Dig into the CRM. Look for patterns. Age, gender, job title, frustrations, goals, what made them convert, etc.

👉 Then rewrite your core marketing message to sound like you were made just for them.

It costs $0. Takes an hour. And it might 3X your revenue…
