It’s Marketing Max, happy Wednesday!

This email is a test for something you will love or hate.

The feedback I have gotten after more than 105 sends of Growth Hacks Weekly is that most people really love the format. The long detailed growth hack you can use to grow your business every week, the quick ad at the top and then some things worth checking out right below it, the careful choice of imagery… Most people love it and write me to stop anytime I try to tweak it.

But you see, oftentimes there are marketing lessons, relevant project updates, things I see in the wild that are worthy of sharing with you all, but the current format of Growth Hacks Weekly doesn’t allow me to share those things without adding a ton more to the already long scroll of GHW.

👉🏼 So this is the first email for a short, always ad-free, personal, & not-consistent Wednesday send! I will only send these emails on a Wednesday when I think I have something worth sharing. So here goes my first one!

1 - Crazy Valuable Podcast Episode

When my good friend sent me this podcast episode, the first thing I noticed was that it was 2 hours long! The second thing I noticed was that it’s an interview with two bros I’m familiar with who sling high-ticket courses. So at first glance, I thought there was no way in hell I would watch this video.

Then my friend said it was each of them detailing the exact marketing funnels they use to make millions per year selling business & marketing/lead gen courses, while they critique and help each other. I gave it a shot and…

… needless to say, this episode is a must-watch for anyone who is in lead gen, course sales, or just interested in how to make money online.

2 - March Recap

I sat down with one of my mentors this past Friday to do a big monthly recap!

Here are my biggest lessons & takeaways from March:

1. Regularly communicating with mentors is the greatest growth hack in the game - I can count 3 HUGE impactful things mentors have advised me to do that made a direct impact in my business, all in the last month

2. Stop trying to learn new skills and just go HAM on the skills you excel at - it’s not worth my time watching a video about SEO when I could hire someone who has spent 10 years doing it … so I spend my time on the things I excel at

3. Golfing every Monday morning has increased my happiness 10X no matter how I play - and I recognize living in a place taht’s warm 90% of the year makes that possible

4. Playing the long game actually helps you play the short game cuz it gives you clarity on what you need to do today - to get to where you want to be tomorrow

5. Pay attention to the questions people ask in sales calls, on clients calls, and on social - that’s the best content that pops off the most for me on twitter and Instagram and tik tok and more

3 - Dictating On My Laptop

I dictate almost every text ever sent through my phone! I’m a huge fan of it because I can talk a million times faster than I can type… but for some reason I never looked into a way to dictate emails and more to my laptop, until yesterday… This little thing is gonna 10X my productivity! See here:
