10 Ways Your Favorite AI
Can Improve Email Marketing
What if we told you that in under 30 seconds, you can see your subscriber growth trends and your latest campaign activity without opening a single dashboard?
That's one of 10 ways our new guide puts your AI to work. Others pinpoint which email in your welcome flow earns the most, catch rising bounce rates before they cost you opens, or hand you a lapsed-buyer segment with the email already drafted.
We didn't have to build our own chatbot for any of it either. Omnisend conveniently plugs into ChatGPT and Claude, so you can work from your actual account.
Haven't used Omnisend before? More than 150,000 ecommerce brands use it for email and SMS marketing, and they average $79 back for every $1 spent. Migration is free, takes up to five business days, and plans cost up to 35% less than Klaviyo's.

🚀 This Week's Growth Hack 🚀
The 3️⃣ Second Rule
The most important question someone asks when they see your ad or organic social post is not “What does this company do?” It’s much simpler:
“Is this for me?”
And if you don’t answer that question within the first 3 seconds, there’s a pretty good chance they’re gone forever.
Think about how you actually scroll through Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, or YouTube. You’re flying past hundreds of posts while every company is screaming some variation of the same thing at you.
“AI-powered platform!” “Transform your business!” “Work smarter!” “Grow faster!”
Blah blah blahhhhhhh 🤮 Buzzword Buzzword Buzwoooorrrrdddd
Your brain has gotten REALLY good at ignoring almost all of it. But imagine you’re walking through a crowded airport with thousands of people talking around you and suddenly you hear someone yell your name.
“MAX!”
You turn around immediately. You weren’t interested in what that person was saying 2 seconds ago, but the second you heard your name your brain decided it might be relevant to you.
That’s basically what this week’s Growth Hack does with advertising.
The 3-Second Rule
The idea is incredibly simple: start your video ads by telling people WHO should be watching.
Call out their job title. Call out their industry. Call out the problem they’re dealing with. Call out some characteristic that makes the right person immediately think:
“Oh… this is for me.”
For example, imagine I start an ad with “Our AI-powered platform helps teams collaborate more effectively…”
That could be for basically anyone. A Product Manager might scroll right past because there’s nothing immediately telling them they should care.
Now imagine the exact same ad starts with “Hey Product Managers…”
Suddenly every Product Manager watching has a reason to give you another few seconds. You basically just yelled their name across the airport.
💎 The Best Companies Already Do This
Once you start looking for this strategy, you’ll notice it everywhere.
Deel has opened ads with “You’re the HR Manager…” Gong has called out “Vice President of Sales…” Similarweb uses “If you’re a digital marketer…” and HubSpot simply starts with “Marketers…”
None of these hooks are particularly clever, and that’s actually what I love about them.
These companies aren’t spending the first three seconds explaining their revolutionary technology or trying to manufacture some insane clickbait hook. They’re basically just saying:
“Hey YOU! This is for YOU!”
That buys them the few extra seconds they need to explain everything else.
🧠 Why This Works
There’s a psychological concept called the self-reference effect. Basically, our brains are particularly good at noticing and remembering information that relates to ourselves.
You experience this all the time without realizing it.
You could be sitting in a loud restaurant completely ignoring the conversation happening three tables away. Then somebody says your name and suddenly your ears perk up.
You weren’t trying to listen to them. Your brain simply noticed something that might be relevant to you.
Advertising works the same way.
Imagine you own a 50-person marketing agency and you’re scrolling Instagram. One ad starts with “Want to grow your business?”
Okay… you and the other 300 million business owners on the internet.
But another starts with “If you run a marketing agency with 20+ employees…”
Now I’m listening.
It feels like the advertiser reached through your phone and tapped you directly on the shoulder.
The mistake most marketers make is trying to make their opening interesting to as many people as possible. I think you should do the opposite: make it insanely relevant to the tiny percentage of people you actually want as customers.
I’d rather have 100 perfect potential customers stop scrolling than 10,000 random people watch my ad.
This Gets Even Better When Your Targeting Sucks…
I actually think this Growth Hack becomes MORE useful on channels where you have less control over exactly who sees your ads.
Think YouTube, TV, podcasts, connected TV, or even broad Meta campaigns.
Your ad might reach thousands of people who have absolutely zero interest in what you sell. That’s totally fine because your opening line can basically become another layer of targeting.
Think of the advertising platform as getting everyone into the airport. Your first three seconds are airport security checking everyone’s passport.
“Are you an HR Manager struggling to hire internationally?”
No? Keep walking.
“Do you own an e-commerce brand spending $10k+ per month on Facebook ads?”
Yes? Come on through. & when they come through, they feel like this was purposefully tailored to them! The conversion rate increases. And you win!
You’re basically allowing the audience to qualify themselves.
Instead of desperately trying to make an ad vaguely interesting to everyone who sees it, you’re making it incredibly obvious who should keep watching and who shouldn’t.
🚀 How To Use This Growth Hack This Week
Here’s what I want you to do this week: go find your three best-performing video ads or organic posts and watch ONLY the first three seconds.
Then ask yourself:
Would my ideal customer immediately know this ad was made for them?
If the answer is no, test a new opening.
If you sell to SaaS Founders, try “Hey SaaS Founders…” If you sell to dentists, try “If you run a dental practice…” If company size matters, try “If your agency has 20+ employees…”
If you solve a specific problem, try “If your sales team is booking meetings but struggling to close them…”
You can get even more specific by combining a few of these things. Something like “If you’re an e-commerce founder spending $10k+ per month on Facebook ads but watching your ROAS drop…” might exclude 99% of the people who see the ad.
But that’s the point!
The other 1% are going to know IMMEDIATELY that the next 30 seconds might be relevant to them.
And here’s the important part: don’t change anything else. Keep the same video, offer, CTA, audience, and everything after those first three seconds exactly the same.
Just change the opening and see what happens to your watch rate, CTR, conversion rate, or whatever metric matters most for the campaign.
Because your first job with an ad isn’t convincing someone to buy your product.
Your first job is convincing the right person not to scroll.
And one of the easiest ways to do that is simply telling them:
“Hey. This is for you.”
So that’s this week’s Growth Hack! Go look at the ads you’re currently running and ask yourself one simple question: Can my ideal customer tell this is for them within 3 seconds?
If not… you know exactly what to test this week 🚀
See you next week,
