Your Newsletter Money Machine

⚡️ EnergyX: The Next GoldRush?*

Not many people know this but before I became @MarketingMax I worked at the bottom of the totem pole in a VC fund analyzing 1,000 investment opportunities a month! Well, I just discovered this new company EnergyX that recently revealed their DLE technology could extract 300% more lithium than traditional methods, and investors everywhere have taken notice. In fact, their current marketing & fundraising campaigns have raised $85M+ to date. Here's my analysis as to what I believe to be the key to their success:

1. Backed by Industry Leaders - They’ve inked deals with top lithium producers including POSCO who is building a 100k ton/year plant and secured a strategic investment from General Motors.

2. Patented Technology - They have nearly 100 patents for their technology & strategic agreements in place with top lithium producers.

3. A Booming Industry - Elon Musk himself is quoted as saying, “I would really like to encourage, once again, entrepreneurs to enter the lithium refining business… it’s basically like printing money right now…”

Given my background, I love diving into successful fundraising campaigns of these innovative startups like EnergyX's, where anyone can invest for as little as just $1,000. I can tell you most companies fall short here, but EnergyX is on to something.

🚀 This Week's Growth Hack: Your Newsletter Money Machine

Today, I'm diving into something that many of you have been asking about: the art of sending emails that your audience actually wants to read. Let's be real, nobody wants their inbox flooded with just another sales pitch. It’s like going to a party and only talking about yourself the whole time – it’s not cool, and frankly, it’s the last way to get people to like you!

So why do you only send emails to your list asking for something?

Here’s the skinny on switching from marketing emails to value-packed ones:

Picture this: You're at your favorite coffee shop, and instead of the barista simply handing you your daily cappuccino, they compliment your shirt, share a bit about their secret latte recipe & then give you a quick tip on how to brew a better latte at home. That’s the kind of experience that makes you want to come back and buy from that coffee shop again, right?

That's exactly what your emails should do. It’s about giving more than you take. Too many brands just sell sell and their list sees right through it; it’s about building a relationship where your subscribers are excited to see your name pop up in their inbox because they know there’s a nugget of gold waiting for them.

I used this strategy when building my agency! Instead of sending emails out to potential clients who booked a call with us but didn’t close - asking them to book a call again and “check in” to see if now is a better time…

I sent an email detailing all of the new clients we just signed with quotes of why they decided to work with us! I didn’t have any call to actions to book a call or anyhting … I just sent it out as a “press release” style email send & more importantly, I didn’t send case studies because the outcome of working with us was not the decision they needed to make right now.

They needed a reason to choose us… so by giving them quotes from 4 clients we just signed saying why they decided to work with us… I was subconsciously giving all the potential clients on my list reasons to choose us as well.

(I cover this exact strategy in my new free training here.)

We would send these out monthly & every single send would yield at least 3 booked calls (aka new warm leads) for our agency.

How you can apply this? Start with the “Newsletter Money Machine” strategy: Start sending emails to your list without asking for anything in return. Think of a little freebie — be it an insider tip, a case study, a downloadable guide, or even an exclusive podcast episode. For instance, if you’re in the digital marketing space, why not share a quick SEO checklist or a link to an exclusive webinar? By doing this without asking for anyhting, you're not just boosting your open rates; you're creating fans for life because you're seen as a giver, not just a taker. You’re the barista complimenting them and teaching them how to make a better late at home!

Here's the kicker: balance is key. It’s like seasoning a dish – too little and it’s bland, too much and it’s overwhelming. The same goes for your emails. A sprinkle of promotion here and there is totally fine as long as the main dish is always value.

(I walk through examples in my new training here)
