How I Added $64,000 In MRR In 30 Days
No cold calls. No cold emails. No begging for demos. No viral posts.
Just a simple, repeatable system that I put to work last month & it absolutely crushed.
If you read my Disgustingly Simple 2025 Marketing Hack a few weeks ago, you already know I’ve been obsessed with a new way to generate leads… one that surfaces the 2% of buyers ready to invest today while nurturing the 98% who will be ready, soon.
Turns out, this strategy wasn’t just a fun experiment. It’s a lead-gen powerhouse.
Here’s exactly how I used it to add $64,000 in MRR to my business in January… and how you can do the same, 100% without my help.
Step 1: Stop Asking for Too Much, Too Soon
99% of companies mess this up.
They run ads or cold emails screaming “BOOK A CALL” or “TRY US NOW” and wonder why their marketing doesn’t work.
I did the opposite.
For the last two years, I ran meta ads asking people to sign up for my newsletter aka I ran ads offering FREE value upfront. No hard sell. No pressure. No “I can help you accomplish X” … Just:
✅ A free, high-value newsletter subscription
✅ A simple opt-in page to collect emails
✅ A no-strings-attached way for people to engage with me and see my thoughts, beliefs, insights, tips, and tricks every week in under 2 minutes
The result? Super low ad costs and tons of engaged leads I can sell to forever.
Step 2: Qualify, But Don’t Scare People Away
Once someone signed up, I immediately asked them a few questions using a friendly, casual typeform (some of these questions I need to ask in order to share data on my audience with advertisers but I include qualifying questions for my offer in as well):
❓ What’s your biggest challenge right now? (to feature those questions on my podcast)
❓ How big is your business? (to see if they would have budget for what I could sell them down the road)
❓ Are you actively looking for help with what I can possibly sell you today? (so if they say, that’s essentially someone raising their hand saying I’m interested in getting this problem solved by you or someone else, today)
👉 If they were qualified and ready, they got a direct invite to book a call.
👉 If they weren’t ready yet, they were simply added to my newsletter, no pressure, & no downsell offer.
This small but powerful addition surfaced the hottest ones automatically.
Step 3: Follow Up Like a Pro
Here’s where most businesses leave serious money on the table.
I knew some people were interested but just didn’t book the call yet. So I had a simple follow-up playbook:
1️⃣ My fractional SDR sent personalized nudges to warm leads. (let me know if you want an intro to that fractional SDR team)
2️⃣ I made sure my newsletter reminded them weekly of how I solve their #1 problem (with ads promoting this service in the newsletter itself).
Simple, repeatable, and incredibly effective.
Step 4: The Power of Consistent Touchpoints
Most people who signed on to my new service were not ready to buy when they signed up. But since then, whether it was a week ago, a month ago, or even more than a year ago… I have been building up brand authority and brand affinity with them, unlike I have ever seen before.
You see, every day/week, my newsletter delivered:

🔗 A light CTA reminding them I could help
All 100% free… So when potential clients saw I could now help them grow their business, they didn’t just book calls… They showed up to the call presold! Because:

We booked 35 calls with this strategy in January.
We closed 22 of them so far.
That’s a 62.8% close rate.
How does that stack up against your close rate?
My favorite part in all of this, almost everyone who showed up to one of those 35 calls started the call by saying something along the lines of:
"Hey, I’ve been reading Marketing Max’s newsletter for a while… You really know your stuff! I wanna work with you, let’s just confirm the strategy & price is right.”
That’s when I knew this system was unstoppable.

The first few clients of those 22 we signed? One got 3 booked qualified calls in the first 5 days. Another got 5 in the first 8 days.
